Middelfart Old Harbour
Middelfart Old Harbour in Lillebaelt
Where Lillebælt is the narrowest and between the two bridges you find Middelfart old harbour. The location is really close to the city and with the view over the busy “Bælt” attracts sailors, whom enjoys both the active harbour as the city life. You will never get bored here – every minute something happens. The harbours backyard is also unique with the hanging gardens (De Hængende Haver) located on terraces among charming small houses facing the harbour.
This applies to motorboats, sailboats and wooden ships as well. In 2023, the harbour has been appointed by the Ship Preservation Foundation as a Maritime Cultural Harbour.
The harbour is small with space for 60 boats, so if you want to secure a place, you must arrive in good time. The marina is especially attractive for larger ships due to its depth, but everybody is welcome. Here are just the most needed amenities. On the other hand, you are close to the old town and the new harbour promenade, with restaurants and many shopping opportunities. Visit the Culture Island on the waterfront, which offers experiences such as cinema and concert hall with year-round activities.
